The background, dexter black, is a for a married man, Sir John Barrow, died 1848, husband of Anna Maria Truetter. The coat of arms is Barrow:-
sable two swords in saltire points upwards argent hilts and pommels or between three fleur de lys and an anchor gules overall the badge of Ulster
impaling Truetter:-
per pale or and sable in chief two estoiles and in base a roundel all counterchanged
