The black background is for a bachelor, Peter Barwick, died 1705. The coat of arms is Barwick:-
argent a rose gules barbed and seeded or between three bears heads erased sable muzzled gules
The rose was awarded, 1661, for help in restoring Charles II to the throne.

gules two swords in saltire points upward, blades per pale and per chevron argent and sable counterchanged, hilts and pommels or, in centre chief a capital D or
impaling Barwick:-
argent a rose gules barbed and seeded or between three bears heads erased sable muzzled gules
