32 Geo II c.69, 1759  "An Act for repairing, amending and widening the roads from the south-west end of Nether Bridge, Kendal, by Sizergh fellside to Levens Bridge and from thence through the town of Milnthorpe to Dixies, and from the town of Milnthorpe to Hang Bridge and from thence to join the Heron Syke Road at the guide-post near Clawthorpe Hall."
