On the opposite page of the sketch book is:-  "There is, a little to the N. of Lower Skelgill, a most correct scene of the islands on Windermere, with Bowness and the neighbourg. seats on the left, & on the right the ferry & station houses. The foot of Furness fell oon the same side, beautifully embays the Lake from wh. it rises in elegant slopes."
