John Fawcett of Gateside, Frostrow left 10 shillings yearly in his will, 1703, for the poor of Frostrow and Soolbank. This was to be distributed by penny wheaten loaves on St John's Day.
Gateside was part of Green Farm, and is now demolished. It was once a dame school.
