"Early C19. Single storey cottage, roughcast, new slate roof with end chimneys. Two new windows facing road, and one on gable end, in plain stone architraves. Lower rear wing has one modern window to front and one on gable end."

"For horses, mares, geldings, cattle, sheep and rams led, driven or carried out of the County of Cumberland, or that pass out of the County to be sold. Twopence for every horse, mare, gelding (one penny). For every score of sheep or lambs - twopence."
