"Bandstand. Said to be 1895. Extensively restored c1990. Cast-iron with zinc pagoda roof. Octagonal plan, surrounded by lily-pond moat with bridge on west side. Columns set on limestone kerb stones, linked by low iron railings and by curved brackets which form elliptical arches with foliage spandrel decoration. At the apex of the roof and at each corner there are ornamental finials. The sides of the bandstand were previously glazed. The timber window frames and glass were removed when the structure was restored."

hearsay:-
Built by Harold Porritt. He was director of a textile factory at Helmshore, Lancashire, visited Grange-over-Sands 1895, and decided to stay.
The bandstand was originally located on The Promenade, but soot from passing trains left marks on the ladies' clothes and it had to be moved away.
