"Lime kiln. Now disused. Probably mid to later C19. Sandstone and limestone rubble brought to courses, with stone slate lacing. Rectangular, with battered front and sides: 6.2m wide at the base and 5.7m deep, facing east, with earth ramp to rear. Now approx. 5.4m high, and lacking the top 2 or 3 courses. Flat-arched opening to draw-hole, with rubble voussoirs. Round bowl on top partly filled in. Good example of its type, close to former limestone quarry known as Stoney Rigg."
