"Lime kiln. Probably 1840s, and probably by professional mason. Large sandstone rubble brought to courses. Square plan, built into slope. Approx. 3.8 metres high, with battered front and sides, and with 2 slightly stepped back tiers above the draw hole. Rectangular draw hole opening 1.25 metres high. Coping missing. Bowl on top partly filled in. A good example of its type; very similar to lime kiln approx. 100m south-east of High Chapel (qv)."
