hearsay:-
A mill about here was given to St Mary's Abbey, York, by Ivo de Tailebois, 1094. The Archbishop of York, William Booth, granted it to Heversham church, 1460. The mill was a corn mill, and was later a spinning mill for flax, hemp, wool and cotton.
