notes:-
Mentioned from the late 18th century as a woolen mill. It burned down in 1824, a painting of which is in the town hall; and rebuilt; later used as a marble factory, and for carpet manufacture, and perhaps dyeing. Water wheels, turbines and steam engines were used.
