| observation:- |
The stepping stones apeear to very large and 'purpose laid', but. They are not shown
on the OS County series maps, 1890s; but are the crossing place is clearly marked
as a footpath on the OS Explorer map. Anyone guided here by the modern map is going
to be disappointed or swept away. |
|
| After the initial series of great stones on the Tebay side there is a channel of deep
fast water, and this is after a fairly dry spell, the river was not 'up'. |
