"Water driven sawmill. 1890, but the coppice barn apparently older. Slate stone rubble, mostly unpointed, with slate roof. 2 gabled ranges with open shed to north east, which has gabled coppice barn to rear. Three windows to left gable, one blocked one to right and doorway, all with slate lintels. Windows with fixed glazing. Blocked window altered by insertion of sliding door. Round window with dressed surround in either gable. The open sheds are later, mostly wooden with corrugated iron roofs, not special in themselves but part of the whole as is the sheerlegs crane. The open barn is at the rear and runs at right angles. The stonework is different and older in character. 2 bays, round stone piers water pipe to turbine enters building on south-west side supported by rubble piers. The interior, not available for inspection, but wood making machinery can be seen through the window and there is a Robinsons bench saw in the open shed. A full set of machinery worked by a turbine and line shafting is said to remain. The mill is said originally to have been a bobbin mill becoming a saw mill in 1890. The adjacent millers house is contemporary but is not of special interest."
