Before 1832. A large, dominant building of local stone rubble. 4 storeys, 20 small-paned sashes on each floor. Ashlar course under coping, and channel jointed pilasters at angles, with crude moulded capitals. Green slate roof of low pitch with lead hips and ridge. Ashlar attic on projecting staircase wing. Exclude later additions.

hearsay Built by J Harris and Sons, 1834, extended 1847 and 1855, and used by them to 1930s to spin linen thread.
Later used by Millers to make shoes.
