| The water is very saline, its conductance read at 40,000 microSiemen. The well at
Manesty read 27,000 microSiemen; most wells are only a few hundred microSiemen; sea
water is about 50 to 60,000 microSiemen. |

| The well has been dedicated to St Anna. In the mid 1800s a doctor sold water from
this well at 6d (5p) a bottle. |
