We see red squirrels often, but they usually feed on the bird table at Middle Sadgill.

Greater spotted woodpeckers are a regular feeder. Summer 2005 we had a male and female, then later a young as well. We can never remember the exact markings for each; but the bird book is always handy to check.

Long tail tits flock through every year, and we see them climbing over each other on the bird feeders. In 2008 we had a nest in a shrub in the lower garden, which had a successful brood, whose beaks could be seen poking out the clever nest. But, later all was gone; we suspect a magpie ...

The rabbit trap has been set in the garden most of the summer, near a rabbit run which was filled in after evicting the rabbits. Without any bait this trap has caught 6 rabbits, so far. And one polecat.
